DOES BEAUTY MAKE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE?

Sometimes, encountering true beauty makes us deeply uncomfortable. We might look at a magnificent piece of sacred art and claim we simply don't like it—or worse, feel an urge to turn away.

But there is a profound difference between personal taste and a defensive reaction to beauty. As we discussed last week, the images inside a sacred space are designed to speak directly to your soul. They are meant to stir something deep within us. For many, that stirring doesn't feel good.

True beauty forces us to reflect. It demands that we chase greatness, persevere, and face the absolute truth. It makes us uncomfortable because it forces us to look inward—and we don't always like what is looking back at us.

However, this discomfort shouldn't discourage you. It is actually an invitation to grow, change direction, and purify your soul. Your church building exists to elevate your spirit and draw you closer to Divine Love.
